Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2012

2012 is coming to an end, and according to the Aztecs, the world is too. The only thing we can do now is play video games. 2012 has given us great games, but we are not done yet. Many games are still set to be released. Here is your 2012 gaming list.

10. Last on the list is Army of Two The Devil’s Cartel — a mouth full that’s worth its words. The first Army of Two was the greatest CO-OP of all time, but Army of Two the 40th Day dropped that title. The 40th Day had flashy aspects but a clunky play aspect, so I give Army of Two The Devil’s Cartel, the weakest ranking.

9. Resident Evil 6 has risen from its grave and given us “retribution.” The series has created many zombie-like followers and gained many fans. A few weeks after the release the“Retribution-al movie,” Capcom is about to give us their sixth evil installment with the game. In “residential areas,” all over the world people are ecstatic.

8. I don’t cry often, but when I do, I “Cry-Far!” If you didn’t catch that I’m saying Far Cry 3 has obtained eighth place on my list. Far Cry was fun and Far Cry 2 was amazing, just ask last year’s Principles of Engineering students. Far Cry 3 earned a lot of attention, really quick. Many people were thrilled at the E3 showing, along with its reveal the series has had a strong but quiet stand.

7. Here’s a controversial one. It’s been awhile since Bioshock Infinite was released and many people, including me have become impatient. Bioshock One was fun, Bioshock Two was sweet, and now its third installment looks awe-inspiring. Bioshock Infinite is a weak seventh as its one of those Valve moments where it has taken years to release the final installment.

6. Assassins is a sad sixth place. Assassins Creed III has been asked for many times, and it shall be arriving Oct. 30. The Assassin’s Creed series has bounced from story to story and been great, but there always needs to be an ending to a series.

5. Tom has never let me down. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, looks nothing short of Mr. Clancy’s brilliant work. Their are tons of Splinter Cell games, the most memorable being Splinter Cell Conviction with story in every molecule of its existence. With Clancy’s strong predecessors, I have high hopes for this game. It will be released March 29.

4. Many great games have come, stayed and gone… but HALO has survived. Generations of critics and many competitors have tried to bury the series, yet it is still going, and thats why Halo 4 is, ironically, number 4 on my list. Bungie might not be along for the ride, but I still have faith.

3. Metro: Last Light takes third place and looks nothing short of its epic predecessor, Metro 2033. A world of war, has irradiated Germany, and its last survivors are living in the old metro rails of their fallen country. Unfortunately, theres more than just radiation to fight off.

2. This one deserves a lot of honor. Dishonored looks to be an uber game. Coming from nowhere, Dishonored surprised many people. Dishonored looks like an epic cross between Bioshock and Assassin’s creed. Dishonored is a strong and proud second.

1. Double rainbow? Please, I’ve got six. The first Rainbow Six: Vegas was admittedly quite horrible, but Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 was and still is my most favorite game of all time by miles. Rainbow Six has the perfect blend of action and technical playability. I could hit a level with a light machine gun and four frags or a silenced pistol smoke grenade and thermal vision. Rainbow Six: Patriots brings all of that and more. Tom Clancy has give us game after game of pure gold. Clancy holds realism closer than any other game company I know of. That’s why Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Patriots earns the strongest ranking out of all, a solid first.
