Twenty One Pilots Third Album Of 2015

On May 17 this year, Twenty One Pilots released their newest album Blurryface earlier than the original date, the 19. It is their second album created with the label Fueled By Ramen.

Most people recognize the band for their songs “Tear In My Heart” and “Stressed Out”, both of which come from the Blurryface album. Whilst both songs are quite good, they are not the album’s best. The best song on the Blurryface album is “Fairly Local”. It has an intense sound with rather discouraging lyrics at the beginning but throughout the song, the words change and become uplifting or hopeful. It sends a message to its listeners.

Their past albums were twenty | one | pilots, and Vessel. They also have an “unofficial album” titled Regional at Best (which is expensive as heck). Their self-titled album was beautifully done with gorgeous sounds and poetic lyrics. It has a completely different sound from the other albums. Vessel and Regional at best share similar sounds and are my two favorite albums to date. They both have a sound that makes me want to get up and dance. They’re so full of energy. The lyrics to the songs make it even more unique than before. Whilst the sound is happy, the words are sad. They’re filled with so much emotion and heart.

Blurryface is an incredible album, but perhaps not the band’s best. It still has the meaningful lyrics but the sound seems a bit weaker. I can’t connect with it as well as much as I can with Vessel.

Twenty One Pilots appeals to all sorts of audiences, whether it’s your mom or your classmate. Although angsty teens usually enjoy it the most. Their music doesn’t fit into a single category. There’s rap, electronic pop and even ukuleles. I, personally, like to call their genre “Ukulele Screamo” as Tyler Joseph, the lead singer, likes to scream. Alternative might be a better word.

Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface can be found on iTunes for $8.99.
