In the last four seconds, the Lady Rangers pulled out a 57-54 win against Georgetown on Friday, Jan. 16. With the last two free throws made by senior point guard Japreece Dean, and a missed three-pointer by the Eagles, the team is now ranked as first in the state and fourth in the nation for 5A.

“It was an awesome feeling,” junior shooting guard Mikayla Christian said. “It was one of our goals for the season, and it’ll really put into perspective that we have what it takes to win state.”

Tonight, Jan. 20, the Lady Rangers will play Leander for a second time at Leander High School after beating them 69-53 at home.

“We know we need to keep working harder in order to continue to be successful,” Christian said.
