comPeople love music because it creates a culture and sense of community. Austin is known as the live musical capital of the world. The city hosts Austin City Limits, a festival in its 17th year, where many genres of music are played by lots of artists. The first weekend was Oct 4-6, and the second weekend is Oct 11-13. Tickets start around $105. The first one was in 2002, and has been happening at Austin since. There are eight stages at the festival. People of all ages are welcomed and encouraged to go to the festival.

“It was a fun experience because I almost died in the 21 Savage mosh pit. Childish Gambino was my favorite artist to see because it was a really cool concert with a ton of theatrics,”  junior Jonathan Pellizzari said. “I would recommend to go because it was an amazing experience with these great vibes with all your friends, while seeing all the people you love perform. I met a ton of new people too.”

Popular artists, such as Cardi B, Childish Gambino, Billie Eilish, Guns N Roses, 21 Savage, Lizzo, Kacey Musgraves and more, performed at the festival. All the acts had crowds that were excited to see them.

“I went to go see Billie Eilish. She is my favorite artist,” junior Camrynne Agapiou said.

“My favorite part about her performance were the mosh pit, they were crazy and fun.”

ACL was a great experience for many people and they had lots of fun going to listen to their favorite artists. Around 450,000 people go every year over the two weekends. It is one of the top 15 biggest music festivals in the United States according to Festicket.

“The people were chill and really funny,” Agapiou said. “ I would go again because it was fun, and I enjoyed the music. I even found new artists that I like.”
