Blue Santa
Operation Blue Santa is a non-profit, community based corporation, made possible by the Austin Police Department, with support from the Texas National Guard, the Austin Fire Department, Austin Water, and Austin Energy. Each year they provide families with a complete holiday meal and wrapped Christmas gifts for each child under the age of 14. Their service to the Austin citizens began in 1972 serving about 20 families. This year it is estimated that they will serve over 3500 families. The only way this is possible is due to the kind hearted people of Austin donated all the needed items. Students who are wanting to participate in Blue Santa may bring a gift to their Ranger Time Teacher.
