Track

With the debut of track season here, many question how the team will do. Head track coach Ryan Bailey simply answered, “We’re going to win.”

His simple response to this question makes one think how he can be so confident without knowing the outcome, but his athletes agree.

“He believes in us more than anyone else,” senior Chris Showels said. “He knows that we can be great, and we are able and willing to learn what to do to be champions.”

When a team can believe in a coaching staff the way that these athletes do, they are bound to do something great. It isn’t often that a team is willing to do anything to win. Winning is something every team talks about but few have the burning desire to go out and do what it takes to win such as this team has.

“When you come to track practice it isn’t just a walk in the park, it’s actually pretty hard. We push ourselves as hard as we can, not just to win for ourselves, but for the entire team” senior runner Raven Jones said.

As a whole the track teams won a few meets in the past, but expect to win more this year with the hard practice habits that this team has.

“Coach Bailey may seem like he has no reason to be here with the way he jokes and such, but when it comes down to winning, he knows exactly what we need to do. He believes in us 100 percent so we do the same and believe in him just as much.” Said Senior Chris Showels

The team will compete tomorrow at the Georgetown relays.
