- CALLING ALL JUNIORS! Boys State and Girls State:
Each year the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary sponsor Boys and Girls State. If you are a junior who is interested in developing leadership skills and are interested in politics and our governmental process, please come by the counseling office to pick up an application. Vista Ridge will be able to send one boy and one girl to this exciting program. Boy’s State will be held in Austin, June 6th through June 12th. Girls State will be held at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, June 13th through the 19th. The deadline to apply for Boys or Girls State is February 22nd. Many of the students who have attended in the past discovered they had a “knack” for politics and became more involved in some aspect of government or politics in the future. It is also a great way to make friends and develop leadership skills. If you have questions, you can go online at www.girls-state.org or www.txlegionbstate.org or see Mrs. Trapp in the counseling office.
- The Ranger soccer team finished the 1st half of district play last night vs Westwood. It was a hard fought 1-1 tie. Goal was scored by Khiry Shelton with an assist from Aaron Grella. Outstanding games from Matt Harrison and Micah Ramirez helped contribute to the Rangers play. Right now we are in the final playoff spot going into the second half of district. Next game is this Friday vs. Leander at VRHS at 7:30pm. We hope to see you there.
