Dr. Seuss will soon be taking over. The theater department will perform Seussical, a fantastic show based on several of Dr. Seuss’s classic books, running Jan. 31 – Feb. 2 in the auditorium.
Tickets are $8 and can be purchased . Shows will run at 7 p.m. on Jan. 31 – Feb. 2 along with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Feb. 2.
“Usually our rehearsals are from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.,” sophomore choreographer Ross Lombardo said. “We rehearse most days of the week unless there’s an important event.”
Rehearsing and running through the show, from the time they step in the auditorium until it’s time to go home, the cast and crew waste no time.
“The musical had a slow start,” Lombardo said. “But now we can see the show, the pieces are all put together and it shows.”
With these students, there’s more perks in the making besides just the performance itself — it’s the people they get to work with and get to know.
“One of my favorite parts is being able to work with the upperclassmen and sophomores,” freshmen Adele Simms said. “It’s fun to see how everyone interacts and gets along and works together.”
With how much they’ve spent working on the show and putting it together, it has become more than just a show to these students, it has become something they all have grown to love and something they will always remember.
“This has given me something new to be proud of and flaunt,” Lombardo said. “I don’t think the musical has impacted me, but it has enhanced me definitely.”
Tickets are $8 and can be purchased online.
