Team Fortress 2 is a first-person shooter massive multiplayer online game, or MMO. This means it can only be played with other people. You have a choice to be on RED or BLU team, and on each team you can be one of nine classes:

The Scout, the fastest class and has the ability to jump twice in midair. The Soldier, the second slowest class but is equipped with the rocket launcher which allows for powerful shots and the ability to Rocket Jump (when the rocket launcher is aimed at your feet, you can shoot a rocket and propel yourself into the air).

The Pyro, who’s gender is still unknown as his/her face is covered by a gas mask and is equipped with a flamethrower with the ability to burn people and even afterburn them for up to 15 seconds.

The Demoman, A black, scottish, demolitions expert that wields a grenade launcher as his primary weapon and a stickybomb launcher as his secondary, a launcher that shoots bombs that stick to surfaces and explode once you click the right mouse button. The Heavy, a fat, russian mercenary that wields a minigun as his primary weapon and a sandvich as his secondary but is unfortunately the slowest class.

The Engineer, a Texan genius that has the ability to build a Sentry gun which is an automated tripod mounted gun that can be upgraded to shoot rockets with his wrench.

The Medic, a very non-combat oriented class who’s main purpose is to heal his teammates or even overheal them above their max health with his Medi-gun. And if you heal one or two people long enough, you gain Ubercharge which, if full, upon right-click, will allow you and your patient to be invulnerable to all damage types for 8 seconds.

The Sniper, an Australian professional sniper, hence the name, that if your sniper rifle is fully charged, (you are zoomed in long enough), a headshot will be an instant kill. And lastly, my favorite, The Spy.

The Spy is a French mercenary that wields a Revolver, an invisibility watch, a butterfly knife, and a Sapper. The invisibility watch is a watch that when right clicked, is brought up and renders the Spy invisible for until the watch has been drained. The knife does 40 damage upon facestab but when you are behind an enemy and when your knife is pointed downwards, you will Backstab your enemy and it will be an instant kill to whoever may be on the end of your knife.

This makes the Spy very useful when he is behind enemy lines and can therefore easily place himself behind any enemy and backstab them. And the sapper, a device that can be attached to the Sentry gun built by the Engineer, and will disable and destroy it so long as the Engineer doesn’t destroy the sapper first. Also, the Spy has a disguise kit disguised as a cigarette case that allows the spy to disguise as any class on the opposite team which makes it easier to pass by enemies without being discovered.

Although Team Fortress 2 ,or TF2 for short, is quite old being that is was made in 2007, it is constantly updated even to this day, and actually had very good graphics for an old game. The first, (Team Fortress Classic), and the second were made by Valve, a video game company that has made many sequels for games but never a 3rd installment. TF2 is a very fun and creative game but it is also very item based.

This means it probably isn’t a very good game to just borrow for  day but a game that takes a while to get into and get the best gear/weapons depending on your playstyle. In my opinion, being that it is my favorite game of all time, i would say its a 10/10 but maybe you can check it out for yourself and see how it is.

It is available for XBOX 360 in the Orange Box Pack, but no one is on any of the servers so its impossible to play. But it is also available for PC, Mac, or Linux which is where everyone’s at and trading items is only possible on the computer so XBOX isn’t a good way to go with TF2.

You can’t exactly buy the PC version of TF2 at Gamestop but you must download a program called Steam where you can get all kinds of other games as well. And best of all, its free-to-play so all you have to do is wait for it to download and you’ll be able to play!
