The House of Torment is open every weekend from the end of September to the beginning of November. Located by Highland Mall in Austin, tickets cost $25 per person for general admission and $35 for the VIP fast pass. The House of Torment has made lasting impressions on teens in the Austin area, many of whom claim it to be one of the most frightening and exciting Halloween activities.

The Texas State fair is an iconic event that has been going on since 1886. Though it is in Dallas, you will find many devoted Austinites at this exciting family oriented show-your-spirit event. General admission at the gate is $17, online $15 per person and it is open 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekends excluding Sundays. (Sunday-Thursday open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.)
The annual Georgetown haunted hayride is a laid back, kid-friendly atmosphere with a splash of typical Halloween fun. On Oct. 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Georgetown Community Center there will be of course a hayride, but a costume contest and trick or treat village as well.
