On Dec. 14, Project Grad hosted a color run 5K to raise money for the post-graduation celebration for the class of 2014. Project Grad raises money for seniors to have a safe, alcoholic and drug-free celebration. Color runs have grown throughout the nation; people gathering to throw colored starch as the runners continue to the finish line.
“I’ve been wanting to do one of these for a really long time now,” sophomore Claire McAfee said. “I’m glad that Project Grad is giving us this opportunity, and I’m glad that it also helps raise money as well.”
Color Run’s are widely popular across America, attracting thousands of people for charities, just as Project Grad is doing.
“Seniors deserve something big for graduating,” sophomore Disha Patel said. “Project Grad is a great idea to keep these graduates safe all while having fun, minus the alcohol and drugs. This fundraiser is not only fun, but will surely bring lots of money.”
As of Jan. 18, Project Grad has raised $31,000 out of the $40,000 goal. For more info, visit Project Grad’s website.
