November 4, 2015
The band competed at the UIL 5A state finals at the Alamodome last night at 10:30 p.m. Performing “Orion,” the band placed fourth out of 225 5A bands in the state. All LISD bands placed in the top four for the second trip to state in a row. Cedar Park placed first, Vandegrift second and Leander third.
“It felt really good,” freshman Parker Whitehead said. “This is my freshman year, and I just came here to march. I had no idea that we would go this far in the competition. It was really fun, and it’s been a great experience. I’m doing it all four years of high school. I just like how it’s like a family, like you just get to make friends.”
