Marvel Fans Await ‘Captain America: Civil War’
December 15, 2015
Marvel studios just released their trailer for the upcoming movie, Captain America: Civil War, on Nov 30. The movie itself is to be released in theaters on May 6, 2016, and has been called one of the most highly-anticipated superhero movies yet.
Directed by The Russo Brothers who directed the last Captain America movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the trailer introduces the return of The Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, who is also Captain America’s, Steve Roger’s, childhood best friend. In the last movie, The Winter Soldier was a rogue agent who worked with Hydra, but now with his memories back he is no longer what he used to be. This splits the characters we’ve known to be a team into two different sides. One, led by Tony Stark who says Barnes should still be put away for his crimes and lack of evidence that he has changed, and the other, led by Rogers who believes that Bucky is good now.
The only thing that could bring this movie down is the dramatic changes in the plot from the comics to the movie. In the comics, Civil War was about whether superhero identities should be kept secret from the public or be known, while the trailer shows the movie to focus around what should happen to The Winter Soldier now that he has regained his memories. This change, along with others that will occur because of it, could enrage those who are fans of the comics.
While the trailer seems to give an idea to where the plot is going, I have no doubts of a twist woven into the plot that the audience won’t see coming. With all the changes from the original comics, as mentioned before, nobody knows what could be hiding in the shadows of this trailer that will pop out in the movie. Not only do we have an interesting plot to look forward to, but we can expect plenty of action and effects that make the comics come to life once again. We’re in for a treat from The Russo Brothers.
The trailer makes sure to show most, if not all, the main characters that will be making an appearance in the movie. The stars include Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson.
Hardcore Marvel fans need to prepare themselves for what could be coming their way on May 6, 2016.
