Varsity Boys Basketball 4-0 in District

With only one loss this season, the varsity boys basketball team is on a road to success with 22 wins and a 4-0 start in district. After traveling to Dripping Springs tonight, the Rangers will face district rivals Cedar Park and Leander next week.
Why did you chose basketball?
Marquan Hampston 12: “Well my mom liked it so I decided to try it out, and I ended up being pretty decent at it.”
Charles McAfee Jr 12: “I fell in love with it because that’s all I did growing up, late nights in the gym and early morning workouts.”
Aaron Gregg 11: “I’ve been playing it for so long, and basketball is just something I really enjoy playing.”
What’s the team’s strengths?
MH: “Strengths would have to be our depth, selflessness and how hard we all work.”
CM: “Definitely our depth, athleticism and unselfishness.”
AG: “Our team has great communication.”
Weaknesses?
MH: “We sometimes think too highly of ourselves.”
CM: “We don’t take being disciplined very well.”
AG: “Being disciplined.”
What professional player do you look up to and why?
MH: “Lebron James because he is not only the best player, but he has a great humble attitude, and he’s a good leader.”
CM: “Steph Curry because his work ethic is impeccable.”
AG: “Michael Jordan because he is just the greatest player there is.”
What’s a personal goal you have for this season?
MH: “I want to win first team all-district.”
CM: “I would like to make my teammates better by encouraging them, and setting them up on the court to succeed.”
AG: “To win district and hopefully first team all-district.”
Team goal?
MH: “For us to be the best team in state.”
CM: “To win district and state.”
AG: “I would like for us to win state.”
What’s your favorite aspect of the game?
MH: “I love making good plays and hearing the crowd cheering.”
CM: “Feeding off the crowd’s energy is one of my favorite parts of the game.”
AG: “I like playing defense because we can win it all with a strong defense.”
