Senior center back Sophie Taylor helped lead the varsity girls soccer team to the state semi finals. Now Taylor is looking ahead in her soccer career and will play at Auburn next year.

How does it feel as its your last year in high school soccer?

“I am very sad this is my last year of high school soccer, being able to play with my best friends. Becoming so successful on the field these past four years have been a blast.”

How do you feel about playing college soccer?

“I’m so excited to start a new experience by playing college soccer at Auburn. The speed of play is a whole different level, and I will improve so much as a player. I can’t wait to be a part of such an amazing program.”

How does school soccer and club soccer differ?

“Club soccer is much more traveling and is how you get seen by colleges so it’s a bigger deal, but high school is typically more fun because you get to play with the people you go to school with and you have something to shoot for like state.”

Why do you enjoy soccer? What causes you to want to play in college?

“I just really enjoy playing the sport, I have been playing pretty much my whole life, and it’s my only hobby. I have worked really hard to get where I am, and it was only right to continue to play at a higher level and only improve. It’s my favorite thing to do, and I can’t imagine not playing.”
