2017 Academy Awards: Predictions & Results

People were on the edge of their seats waiting to find out the results for this year’s Academy Awards. La La Land was nominated for a whopping 14 Oscars. Only two other films, Titanic and All About Eve, have been nominated for 14 Oscars (Predicting the Oscar Winners). “We could see some history being made,” says Kevin Polowy, Yahoo! Movies senior editor (Predicting the Oscar Winners). This year, there are more films nominated starring black actors and actresses than ever before. Movie lovers around the country should be expecting a change in the Academy’s decisions this year. ABC writer Luchina Fisher predicts Denzel Washington to win Best Actor In a Leading Role for the film Fences, and Emma Stone to win Best Actress In a Leading Role for her performance in La La Land. As well as La La Land to win Best Picture (Predicting the Oscar Winners). CNN writers Brian Lowry and Lisa Respers France predict La La Land to win Best Picture as well (Oscar Predictions: Who Will Win Big?).
