Random Ranger: Eleanor Ronan

How’s your school year going so far? Pretty good. It’s a little overwhelming, but I think it’s going pretty well.

Are you involved in any clubs on campus? Right now I am in Student council and Key Club, and I just submitted a video to run for Key Club Freshman representative. I don’t know if I’m going to get that, but I at least tried. I’m kind of in Drama Club, and I wanted to be in the spring musical. I’m worried it’s going to take up too much time, so I don’t think I’m actually going to be able to do that. Probably not this year, but I’m still going to the Drama Club meetings.

What inspired you to run for Freshman Representative? My brother and sister were President and Vice President of Key Club when they went here, so I have a legacy to live up to.

Do you think you’re going to win? Probably not. It’s like a medium-small club, it’s not as big as Student Council, and there aren’t that many freshmen there, so I think I have a better chance than if I was running for Student Council Freshman Representative. I’m anxious, and I was anxious when we had to submit a video, so I was just like, “Yes, this is what I do, and please vote for me!”. I don’t know, probably not, but I will hope.

Are your brother and sister still on campus? No, they both attend UT now, so they’re down in downtown Austin now.

Are you planning on going there too to “continue the legacy”? Yes, again, I’m expected to go to UT. Like, I want to but also it’s kind of, like, not expected, but, also, kind of expected. Yeah, I want to go to UT though eventually. I keep going with them because they were really good in school and everything, so I’m trying to keep up with them I guess.

Do you have any hobbies or interests? I really like to sew, and I’ve just been getting into painting and stuff, and so, I like artsy craftsy kinda stuff. 

Are you in any clubs for that, or you just don’t have enough time? Well, I wanted to, but kinda came to the conclusion I couldn’t be in Drama. I wanted to work on the costumes for the spring musical. I wanted to be in fashion design club, and I don’t really know what they do. The other day I was going to go to the meeting, but when I got there the Ranger Time portal was full.  I think I’m going to try to do that whenever they have their next meeting.
