Raiyan Shaik
My name is Raiyan Shaik, and I’m a senior this year at Vista. I also happen to be the proud editor of VRHS Word. I joined the Journalism program my first day of high school and have loved every moment since. I absolutely love writing, so much so that I decided I just had to join the high school newspaper in the 6th grade. I’m also very involved outside of News Media. I am a Speech and Debate officer, NHS secretary, Youth and Government President, and regularly compete in UIL Journalism and Current Events. A lot of my interests line up with writing, law, public speaking, and social issues…which may or not be because I really love Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. I’m also really interested in travel and hope to go on an extended trip to Japan with my best friends in a few years.
Many don’t know that our website offers a vast array of incredibly interesting and compelling stories entirely crafted from our young minds. Our journalism team is pretty amazing and talented, so I really hope everyone chooses to tune into our very own VRHS Word as the 2021-2022 year progresses. I hope we have a great time in many of our final years together!
