Sophia is a sophomore at Vista Ridge, and this is her first year as a reporter for the Word. She’s also a part of the graphic design and animation club and the dnd club. She likes to learn new things and write about them which is why she wanted to write for the school newspaper.  Outside of school she likes to draw and sew, but most of the time she just binges TV shows. She would like to learn more about her school, and hopefully improve her writing. She’s very excited to be a part of the team behind the Word.

He gets everyone ready to have a good time. “People need a place where they can go, and they can just hear some funny things, laugh, even if youre not even up there performing,” said Kuehn. “We have people who come here every week just to watch some people say funny things, just be in the audience and maybe yell a prompt or two. ‘That was something funny, that was something good.’ And its really just a place where people know that no matter what no ones gonna judge them.”

ON A VERY SPECIAL EPISODE Students watch the anime of the week with interest eagerly waiting for their favorite character to show up again. In the meantime they poke fun at the overdramatic shots in the scene. “I do enjoy watching anime in my free time,” Petty said. “Its fun, so I dont mind doing it. Its great to see the kids enjoying it too.”

BRAINSTORMING SUCCESS Students think of ideas on how to educate people about the GSA. It’s already one of the biggest clubs in our school, but they still want to reach more people. “I just think its always important to continue teaching youth about our history so that we don’t repeat it,” Jecker said.
